This is the 360 I'll be putting in a 72 duster I've been jacking with the past 2 years. I painted the aluminum intake thinking It would look alright, now I'm having second thoughts. I need to finish cleaning up the valve covers a put on a few parts here and there, but this should pretty close to the finished product. Any ideas or suggestions on finishing it up. Does it look alright? What do you think?

It looks great to me. I'd go blue valve covers, too, and sleeper-mode 24-7.

Looks great. I painted the MP covers on my 406 to match and sanded raised parts to the aluminum. Good luck getting that black wrinkle off if it needs to. Mine did and eventually had to soak the damn things in acid to get it off. Sand blasting could barely touch the stuff.

I think that motor looks awesome, great job....looking forward to seeing it in the car...

I like it. Aluminum manifolds look "cool" until the aluminum gets stained, etc. I once painted (when they first came out) a 440 Torker with I-don't-know-how-many coats of orange, and that thing looked great many years afterwards.

painted intakes look great

my torker II with just a couple coats of high temp orange

I agree Painted it gives it more of a factory look.

Thanks for all the great feedback...I still have a ton of work to do before I can get the car rollin...I will post more pics of my progress...

Exactally, I've got the same issues with it.

Looks great, I would be careful of the chrome thermostat housing though....famous for leaking and wouldnt want to stain the fresh paint on the engine.
Quick tip to help ensure flatness on the t-stat....put a small sheet of glass down...then emery cloth and slide/sand the housing over it. That will help ensure flatness.
