To buy or not?

I think you made the right decision, even though i am a fan of the Dart Sports.
The black Dart Sport is just too over priced for what you are getting.......

LOL... I loved the way you put that young gun.. mine was a completely plain jane, /6 grocery getting, beat *** Dart... Not anymore.. they're all Mopar history.. from the grocery getters to the Hemi cars.. they're all worth something.. All that numbers matching, 'true muscle car' stuff is great and all.. and I would never knock anyone for being into that... ever... but to me, thats all a collectability thing.. I wanted something I could make my very own... not only a piece of Mopar history, but a piece of MY history.. Something for my kids and my grandson, to be able to point to and associate with me.. Its all about what exactly you want your car to be... I think she turned out nice..

First off BEAUTIFUL dart!
And second. I agree with you a numbers matching rarer car is very neat to see but for me a car that I'm afraid to drive isn't worth it to me. I wanted a car that I wasn't afraid to add something that never would have been offered or dreamed of then.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I crawled all over the and only found a few things that will need attention but for a 41 year old car it was very solid and had a crappy paint job. I'm pleased with my purchase and look foreword to meeting more of you guys/gals and spend more time on the forum. This a great place for knowledge and for fun!
Thanks all

the 72 will be much less work for sure, and the money you save will make it even better, I love my 72 scamp, it can have a lot done to it to make it the kind of car you want.....

spend your money on what you want, (you only live once)

Exactly, thank you! And another point, it depends on what you want to do with it. My /6 car to-be-v8'ed, I will never be afraid to DRIVE. And it won't drive any different than a real hi-po car did. Actually, since I won't be afraid to ruin the originality by modifying it, it will drive BETTER than a factory muscle car. In today's traffic, I doubt I'd want to drive a valuable original car all that often, but a modified, upgraded lower-value car... heck yeah. Lots more day-to-day fun!

agreed... I just want to be clear, I am in no way, shape, or form, trying to bash the whole, 'true muscle car', numbers matching, rare car crowd.. I love those cars, totally respect thier place in history and love to look at those cars.. And I can totally understand why people get into that.. but for me, it wasnt what I wanted.. First off, I dont have the budget for a collecter car... second, I would be afraid to take it out.. third, in my opinion, if I put in the appropriate cubic inches worth of muscle, and give it right bells and whistles, its still a muscle car.. may not have left the factory as one, but it is now.. and its no less a muscle car than its brothers and sisters that left the factory that way.. (it just took 40+ years to catch up LOL) ... point is I wanted a Mopar I wouldnt be afraid to do whatever I wanted to it, to make it mine.. to make it me... because I respect the collector crowd, I would've never been comfortable, or even able to do that, to a true factory muscle car... had to be a grandma grocery getter.. lol... I couldnt be happier...

get both. drive the 72 around while you work on the 73

the 73 is going to take a long time before she sees the road. more body work, needs engine running, etc.

get both if you can afford it :D
