Went to the local scrap yard and found a 68 new yorker with the engine and trans still in it someone scraped the whole car actually everything is there anyway ran the vin and it says it is a 440 the guy wants 250 for the engine just hate to see the engine got to scrap , only has the single snorkel so I am guessing not the high performance engine ,thinking of pulling it, what you think
 
you better snatch that deal up. the crank alone is worth 250 if it's good. 68 440 has the same heads as the magnum. only thing different between standard 68 440 and HP, was cam, intake,exhuast manifolds, and maybe compression.
 
I'd go for engine and Trans.

X2........Great motor and trans. I would not hesitate.

Edelbrock Performer intake, Comp 284 cam, headers and a 750 carb.

At least as good as (and almost the same/better) as a 440 Magnum.

Bring the engine and trans to me and I'll give you $400.00 for it.
 
Dude , if you don't , it'll haunt you every night for years to come . Trust me on this .
 
It does have the 8 3/4 asked about the trans he said another 150 for it
I am sure the engine is in need of a rebuild hopefully not any more
The last time it was tagged was 94, I am getting it will ask him if I can pull it next Sunday I got a car show all day sat
 
Give $500 for the whole car. Let me tell you, that is an awesome car, and a great ride. Hell, for five bones you might get him to tow it to your house!
