Always check Craigs List. I was looking around the other day and happened on this ad for tools. I called the guy yesterday and went and bought a couple of things.

2 ton folding cherry picker
14" metal chop saw
6" bench grinder w/light.

100 bucks out the door. :-D

very good score, sweet deal for the $$...

Can't find anything that good here in Colorado..
everyone here thinks junk is worth gold...lol

Yeah, I bought another one a year or so ago for 75, it's one that has to be disassembled for storage. It's a good lift though.

I just couldn't pass on the deal. The chop saw alone is just over 100 new.

I am down here in the springs and I have gotten some killer deals off CL. ive even gone to Denver to get a few things. they are out there , just have to be patient lol. I do run across a lot of gold, but I think that's everywhere

don't forget yard sales either.....community sales in retirement communitys are great! My sister just picked up a (4 drawer cabinet with a 10 drawer topper) tool box for $20. Looks like new too

Got nearly all of my cars, including my 67' Cuda coupe, and (3) gen III hemis, from craig's. ateam

Nice score! I bought this engine stand off of Craigslist for $50. Heavy duty...

I always seem to miss the deals on Craigslist, I look before buying and generally nothing but a week or so later what I wanted is listed lol, nice deal you got.

I have had pretty good luck selling household stuff, computers and even my duster on CL, just have to sort through the spam.

Looked on CL this morning just for grins and clicked on the yard sale tab.

Bingo.

I picked up a 3 ton hydraulic floor jack, another engine stand, a bag full of Craftsman impact and regular sockets, spanner wrench, Campbell Hausfield 1/2" impact, valve spring compressor, 1/4" air tool to chuck up 1/4" drive accessories, an engine leveler, cylinder hone, a REAL pair of Vice Grips, 2 bar clamps and 2 5" C clamps, brass hammer, timing light and dwell/tach.

Bunch of other small stuff like rivets, BIG bag of quality zip ties, air gauge etc.

Another 100 bucks well spent. Didn't really have the extra cash but it was too much to turn down.

One thing to consider when buying stuff, is where the heck to put it. I only have a 24x24 garage, I have just about limited out on toolbox space so now I need another stack on unit. :banghead:

Found room for everything else (sort of) now I am planning on adding a 14' x 8' addition to the yard end of my garage.

Going out this afternoon to sort through some stuff for the young gun thread. I found a bunch of sockets and a few other things that need a new home.

Gotta keep an eye on CL. I have been wanting to get a bigger compressor for a while now. I decided to look on CL again this morning.

Bingo, I found a Craftsman (not really what I want but...) so I email the guy and he gets right back at me.

I give him a call and after talking with him I decide, what the heck, I'll go look at it. Well, it's 6.5HP, two stage, 60 gallon.

So 50 mile drive and 125.00 bucks later it found a new home. It's about 4 years old, he had all of the original paperwork and manuals with it.

That's a score! I paid about $1200 for mine, all in. I should have been more patient!

I found my 71 Demon 340 on Craiglist last Sept. It was listed by a Chevy dealership in south Georgia on a Monday and by Thursday I was hauling it home. It was a 5 yr old resto only driven to car shows and I got it for 15k drive out. I am still in disbelief that I found my dream car.

Man, that's a sweet ride!

If that compressor has a cast iron pump, you really got a great deal.

Unfortunately it doesn't. Like I said it isn't what I really want, but it will work until I can save up the bones for an Ingersoll Rand.

Still a great deal though, they are about 800.00 new. I'm sooo aggravated at the 30 gallon 5 horse, it just can't begin to keep up.

Just bought an old school heavy US made engine hoist ("Raymond" brand) from CL for $50.

Ram has been replaced with standard robotic assebly line grade part, and has a 24v pallet jack pump!! Press the button, lift goes up.

PO had 2 car batteies but I'm using a computer UPS (because it's also a battery charger!)
