Larger Valves Which Brand

-
Based on recommendations from Fabo members I got 1.7 &1.44 valves from engine builder on eBay. Can't tell you if they're good as the head is still a work in progress.

I got the same valves and springs BUT this is just one part of a MUCH larger project. I have replaced my pistons, camshaft, lifters, lifter rods. I have ported and polished the head. I will not be able to tell you if anyone component made a difference or how much but these valves and springs are the same recommendations that I got from slantsix.org.

i ordered my original Stainless valves 1.7/1.44 from clifford, which is made by S.I valves. ended up sticking ALL the intakes, switched over to engine builder valves and never had an issue some 75 runs later...

they are a quality valve and a really great price!

now this has nothing to back it up but theory and learning these engines but if this is a street car or even occasional track days i would leave the stock exh valve, slants have the issue of getting it in not out. its very easy to get 75-90% flow on the exh lol...

i will be trying this when i do the head for my swinger. thinking a 1.75 intake and stock exh valve

Hmm...interesting concept

Ferrera makes good stainless valves too

i dont think they have them on the shelf anymore though... when my SI's went south they had a 3-5 week wait as they had to make them... and for the price the engine builder valve is a better buy. now if you plan on going to 7mm stems or something then yea, i would go ferrea

I agree. I think if you look into it the valves mentioned here are probably Ferrera under a different name

nope... they actually make them and a ton of others... i called and talked with them about 2 years ago about it...

The oversize valves I have are EPN branded....stainless steel, 1 piece, hardened chrome shafts, hardened tips, and swirl polished....much the same as Ferrera Valves.
It's not a lot of good to have oversize valves and no head/port work to go with them.
