Would love to see what you guys are doing. Here's what I've got done so far...

Should the glove box be painted white as well for contrast, or should it remain the same color as the rest of the dash?

I'd leave the glovebox door black. White draws the eye, but why would you draw the eye to the glove box? Instruments, yes. Controls, yes. Glovebox... na.

Nice lookin' dash!

Somethin' else to think about -- See the line on the kick panels that lines up with the door panels? In might look good to paint the area above that line black, so that it continues across the door to the kick panel. I've got a white interior w/black kick panels, and always thought it would look better to continue the lines/colors. Just a thought.

not white, its very light grey...

That looks like the one in my girlfriend's '73 Scamp. The handles are white. Did you order your upholstery custom to get the color for the high back bench?

71 Scamp factory original scheme.

Actually I traded for the seat covers they are from Legendary and yes they were a custom color white but I do not what

The outside is white & black, inside is more dark charcoal and light gray.

"Eventually" gonna finish my interior- buy new skins/door panels etc.
Was really set on white but kinda worried about the dirt factor with a 7yr old, a dog, and freq trips to the ball field and beach. So I painted the seats and door panels and gotta say... its been high maintenance.

Put some Med blue door panels on it to get a feel if I changed over... but really dont like the B5 Blue/Med Blue interior look.

Is it real hard to keep up with the white interior? Imagine its gonna show every smudge and spot. BUT hopefully with new skins and panels (not painted ones) wont be so porous and be easier to wipe clean. Feedback?

I changed the seat covers and door panels to white on my old 'vert. I like the 2 tone contrast of black and white. Plus white is so much cooler in the summer. I was also kind of worried about maintenance as I didn't put the top up too often. I found out a can of 'crazy clean' and a microfiber towel are your new best friends. A quick spray and wipe whenever you get some dust or a smudge keeps it looking like new.

Your ride looks great Dallas... thanks again for your input.
Yea- white is the way I wanna go and most likely will when the budget permits.
South Florida and no a/c is not a good combo for dark seats!
Ill have to pick up some Crazy Clean and give it a try.

Thanks for the compliment. I sold that car back in 2008 but it was one of the best old cars I have ever owned. I enjoyed the car much more once I got rid of the black.

My previous 'vert before the '68 was a triple black '70 Challenger. Black cars are beautiful but I don't really ever want to own another one. Driving the Challenger on a warm summer day was pure misery, but was so 'cool' when the sun went down.
I found the Crazy Clean works best using a microfiber towel. Sprayway (the company that makes Crazy Clean) also makes some great window cleaner.

I thought so, because I had to order mine in Chrysler off white w/ the two different grains. They only had parchment in '73 + with those upper door panels, which is as close as it comes to white.

Parchment is a gorgeous color, pearlescent antique white, but the material that Legendary uses is NOS on that color and holy hell is it expensive. It was actually cheaper for me to get a custom order of off white (which is what you see in "white" upholstery in mopars) than it was to get the original parchment. So, I went with white everywhere.

The interior used to be tan and parchment with black/white cloth inserts. Not too fond of tan dashes and wheels, so I pulled everything, painted the dash and column and went with black 4spd carpet, round horn button black wheel, $20 swap meet perfect dash pad and black upper door panels.

I'm still out a trans case for the swap, but I'll join the party here soon.

clhyer... dig the hell out of the headrests!

Thanks DaveBonds, those pics don't do it justice!
I've taken "best in class" - or better - in every show I've put it in, about 5 so far.

Looks good, Cal! I miss that car. Miss mine too, I've been "deployed" in Spain since May, and won't be home until November. I just had this post up and everybody was admiring your car....

What I did was not black and white but black with different gloss finish. The dash is done in a rough finish and the glove box door and ashtray are in semi gloss.
