Have YOU Run 5x100 and had Failure First Hand?

monstrosities is my concern too. Another member is questioning 17X8 and a 1 inch spacer too. My question ( without beingan engineer ) is
At what point do the wheels apply too much stress to the skinny *** axles, unintended wheel bearings, 7/16 lug studs ?

It doesn't have to be the wheel mounting that fails. Parts behind the wheel could fail.
But anyway...
larger diameter rims shouldn't put any extra stress on anything as long as a person is going with lower profile tires.
It's not like those idiots putting 30" tall rims with 36" tall tires on their 'donks' and then spinning axles off, even if their Caprices still only have the 150 hp or so they came from the factory with.

That **** drives me crazy. Looks so ridiculous...

UPDATE I bought some 17's from Ron's Wheels and they have the 5 x 4 bolt pattern. they are "Polished Trashstars from Showheels" thanks all for you Input , Tim (Dad)

The difference is less than 1/16th inch. It will fit and does fit with no issues and no documented failures, which is the original question.

I went to school with a guy who had a SBP Duster. He ran 100mm wheels for about two years. They came off my senior year, because several wheel studs were cracking! One snapped off when removing a tire...three others on that wheel were cracking. I have to say that roofing nail in the tire might have saved his Duster...this was Wednesday, and he had planned a 250+ mile highway trip that weekend.

I will see what I can do. Daughter has all the skills on the computer. I will try to make an effort A.S.A.P. Tim

Best I can do,Car still inside on Jackstands,no room to get wide angle of whole Car.
