race car frame?

I take it this guy wasn't the racer...

Exactly the reason why someone should go over there with a pocket full of cash and buy this piece of history before the guy starts researching it or watching Barret Jackson.

Hell, if it were closer I'd go look at it just to see what it is!

Very cool. Thanks for posting this.
I'm sure this would be more valuable if it actually did have a frame.

yeah it looks like just the body but dang it would be nice to have. its a very cool piece of racing history. i wonder how long its been sittin in the barn.

I'm thinkin' bein' on the ground ain't gonna be pretty underneath

looking through all the photos I am not able to find it. The only name I seen was the sponsor Sonny Duncan custom builders out of Norfolk Virginia. The class of racing it was in is BB/FC. I know their are some people would like to see it back racing.

Wow! Great detective work guys... I would love to have one of our members take a look and let us know the whole scoop on this piece of history.

We shall find out! Sent a message hope they contact me. We shall see. Definitely an early 70's patriotic style paint job. Even if its just a body very cool!!

I would need a side shot of the body to get the name off of it. There is a guy at my work who wrenches on a nostalga FC and another mechanic I know who wrenches on the Evil Wicked Mean & Nasty nitro funny car that might know some info

My dad ran a 70 Barracuda Funny Car just like that with a Logghe chassis. We still have it sitting in the garage. The body looks identical.Ours was the Hangman Barracuda that ran top fuel way back when and Gene Snow came down and verified the chassis was his old chassis. We're still not sure how the Plymouth body made it's way to the chassis, but it's a pretty cool ride anyway.I'd love to have that body, just not sure I can swing the price right now.The fiberglass on those bodies are so thick that I don't believe there is anything wrong with it sitting on the ground. You're going to need at least 6 big guys to help carry it off.Literally.

Looked at that car a couple years ago........Its just the body and theres nothing "thick" about it..The glass is thin and has seen better days..lots of damage....still a neat piece, but too rough to really do anything with(JMHO)...If I remember correctly it was raced by someone at or near Va. beach.....I had pictures somewhere I'll see if I can find them..................

Just remembered he did have a frame/chassis for the body but it was made out of square tube....not sure it was for this body or an earlier FC.
