subframe connectors

I finally got around to getting mine installed. I based my design off trailbeast design above. I used 1-/1/2" x 3". I got (2) 72" legnths off ebay for $50. Could have saved even more money if I bought 4' legnths which is all I used, but I wanted extra materal incase I messed something up. I could NOT find any locally. Every supplier in town want to only sell me 16' legnths. So total investment $50 and maybe 6 hours of work.

I cut each 6' tube down to 48" and used back section I notched out for the frame to fit into for the front plate of the connector. Then went over them with black paint. Later I will cover them with spray on underlayment from Eastwood to replaced the underlayment I had to grind off to weld them in. I did have to remove the E-brake cable. Where it came through the front rail was right is the spot for the front plate. I intended to just move it enough to get the connectors on, but 40 years of rust the nut on the cable would not budge. So I just cut it. My car doesnt need an E-brake anyway. I never used it in the 10years of owning the car anyway. The 1-1/2" didnt require any floor work. I does just touch the floor in the back half. from the photo you can see I also bent up the back half slightly for a more contour fit.
