What would be the advantages of your engine over their engine?
As I am a direct competitor in this engine business with Mike and CME, let me express my opinion as to some of the advantages.
First the quality of execution of the build. I have seen Mike's engines on teardown. If you don't think Mike will give you better quality, you are mistaken.
Then I don't much give a hoot about fuel economy. It's nice to have but I look at the horsepower per cubic inch and that is where I get my chuckles.
Look at the power Mike gets from the FIVE-OH-FIVE compared to the 522 on that site you listed.
4300 rpm.......522/635.8 TQ..........505/650.3 TQ...advantage Mike 1.218 tq/ci to 1.288 tq/ci
5300 rpm.......522/595.1 HP...........505/650.3 HP...advantage Mike 1.156 hp/ci to 1.288 hp/ci
5600 rpm.......522/603.5 HP...........505/644.0 HP...well you get the idea
Mike makes GREATER peak torque and horsepower, at the same or lower rpm, with his engine using a SHORTER STROKE.
THEN this was all done with a distinct DIS-advantage for Mike, in that his water temperature was over 80 degrees hotter than CME was using. I've never seen anyone use engine water temperatures starting at 110 degrees and then have them getting LOWER during the run as CME's did during that test. Someone was really attempting to boost the horsepower by cooling the engine.
