Looking for a 1968 Dodge DartGTS 340 steering wheel wire harness. I was able to get the top half of the switch but now i need the whole thing. Any direction would be great.

Thank you
Tom

The only wires in the column are connected to the turn signal switch, and also work the horn. Do you need the wiring harness where the turn signal switch plugs in? That would be the main dash harness I think.

Not a main dash harness. Sounds like all you need is the switch that tekslk posted. $70 is a good price, since I used to see >$100. Perhaps someone is making new ones now. Sounds like you changed just the upper plastic cam already. Use a small screwdriver to release the pins from the plastic housing of your current switch. Only a fool would cut the wires, but I see that a lot. You will need run a stiff wire upwards first, then tape your new wires to it to pull them down the column.

As I'm pulling my broken (as in turn signal lever flopping loose) turn sig, switch assy from my 68 fish, I notice that the replacement one i bought used from a FABO member (came from a used duster I believe, but in decent shape, not dry rotted from desert heat like mine) had some of the prongs loose in the connector. I realize I will have to take them all out in order to fish the wires through and then re press them back in. Whats a good way to get them to hold in the 40 plus year old plastic connector? I suppose I could cut and bullet connect the wires if they won't tighten up inn there. Thx, FABO

Kevin,

I have used junkyard connectors with no problem. The plastic is still excellent. Not much heat in the cabin, especially down low. Do not cut and butt-crimp the wires unless you want guys like me ridiculing you. No special tool is required to release the pins, just a small screwdriver. I forgot exactly how I did it (from front or rear?) but it is real simple.

Those connectors were used only until ~1971 in A's, or whenever they put the key in the column. However, I found them in 80's Dodge motorhomes, so look thru the van section at the junkyard.
