Engine harness is junk

Your original question confuses me. You want to rewire it in another year or so, but plan to spend >$150 to totally re-wire it now. What else will you do in a year?

To just get back on the road, wrap exposed copper with self-fusing silicone tape. You can buy at Ace or even at the 99 Cent Only store. Bypass the ammeter in the engine bay. Run the thick ALT and BATT wires straight thru the burned out bulkhead terminals.

Well my original plan was to rewire the entire car next year. I didnt realize that my harness was in as bad of shape as it was. So I wasnt sure what my options where. I called Bill @ evans wiring and he is great to deal with and his prices are great. I bought the engine harness and wiper harness from him. The head light harness was still in good shape so I didnt have to worry about that one. Bill was very patient and willing to spend time going over the connections and what not with my harness.

On the plus side Im at least getting rid of all the NOX wiring that isnt needed. So at this point it looks like I wont be needing to rewire the entire car at this time. As for the statement about just getting my car up and running, I dont have the $500 plus dollars to buy a complete rewiring kit and didnt have the time to do it. So I was just curious as to what my options would be to get it going. Looks like I wont have to worry about that anymore!
