So im going to be putting a trans temp gauge on the 97 ram and am trying to pick the best location for an accurate temp. logic tells me to put it on the supply side of the factory cooler due to be the actual temp, like a normal cooling system.

i was thinking a T fitting (making sure not to block flow) up near the radiator.

what do you think?

I would think you are correct by putting it in the line going to the radiator.. there or on the side of the transmission pan if there is a good place for it.

my 94 ram 2500 has the temp sensor on the output line going to the cooler...

I have mine on the side of the pan.

seems like in the pan would be like getting the temp in the output side of the rad, its already been cooled so the temp is not accurate, at least how i see it.

what about any ports on the trans? any of those all time flow and :at the end of the line" before leave the trans?
