Believe in the GM HEI ignition now?

This is the funniest thing I've ever read.
What's wrong with liking the looks of a msd. With the shiny red box under the hood you know the car is FAAAAAAAAAST.

recently replaced the engine in my 1986 dodge ram, thought I would check the ECU and I noticed it was date stamped 6/25/1985.... not bad I would think, so much for unreliable!

Does your ram have the lean burn ecu in the fenderwell or does it have the smaller older style unit. I think the problem most people are having with the chrysler electronic units come from the fact that they are not made to the higher standard of quality that OEM components have to meet. New made in china junk is exactly that made in china junk. I would prefer a good 30 year old original ecu to any parts store unit. The HEI units are still produced by factory vendors which means factory reliability.
