student reprimanded for tackling a knife wielding classmate

He was stupid, but may have learned a valuable lesson: Never help, never stop, never get involved, it is never worth the risk. Walk away, hands in pockets, head down and pick up the pace. No good deed goes unpunished.

So what if it was your kid in that situation where someone pulled a knife on him, and there was someone nearby who could help, but didn't? Would you be glad the other kid had gone off, without helping, while your kid was left to try to get away from somebody holding a knife on him?

I salute this young man who had the courage to actually think of someone other than himself (very rare, these days) and prevented a tragedy from happening. This kid should be rewarded, not punished. I'm glad to hear that he would do it again, regardless!
