Hard to find a straight answer on the internet or here on how much and where..

I have a rebuilt 360...no real info on it except for it's cam. I have an a727 and an performance econ torque converter pus a flex plate. The 727 has been rebuilt and the torque converter is new.

None of this has been together.

It looks like the flex plate bolts to the torque converter. The PO filled the converter so more AT fluid has to go in..

So, how much weight do I need to buy and where do I put it ?

Thanks
ian.

Thanks,

Yes, I saw that (summit has the same thing) but I also suspect like most stuff I buy, it doesn't come with explicit instructions.

I notice a lot of folks talk abut this issue on forum threads but real numbers, etc are pretty scarce.

In my opinion, buy (used / new) the B&M weighted flex plate which is built for just this purpose. Otherwise, you either need a 360 weighted converter, or to figure out how to weld weights on.

Be sure that you are matching LA weights or Magnum weights as applicable, as the two are both "externally balanced" but different from each other.

From personal experience Grassy it is an in the ballpark thing. I purchased the weight kit and the instructions do tell you where the weights go. They are not exact but after going through the process, you really can't go wrong. There is only so much room for them.

no that it helps but when i put a temp 318 in my 360 ramcharger i picked up a converter around $100 bucks for the 318 with discount codes and free shipping at advance autoparts.com. i think its a little more for the 360 converter but i had to eat the core price since i'm keeping my 360 converter.

Thanks. I find it odd that so many talk about this but I have yet to run into clear instructions on where and how much. I think my flexplate may be B&M so I shall by the weight kit next.

Gnome, I have yet to see anything like free shipping in Canada. And I am probably looking at a 3 week delivery time as well.

Thanks
Ian.
