When I put my air on the heat stays on too. I get nothing out of the air conditioner vents but I do get air out of the floor vents. Any ideas on fixing this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Frank

Sounds like the valve door isn't working right

dash control, heater box doors, or water control valve or a combo

WHAT are we workin' on? You have a shop manual?

Sounds like the combination vacuum module is bad or one of the hoses has a leak causing the blend door and / or the diverter door not to move.

What are we working on is the big question, my 66 has cable control to shut the hot water off in my air box, and the same for moving it from defrost to floor heat.

It's a 72 Swinger and I don't have a FSM. The heater control valve is shot, so for now I put a ball valve under the hood to keep the coolant out of the heater box. The air works but it only blows out of the floor vents.

Could be a lose of vacuum from your engine bay, do you have a vacuum canister/can/plastic holding thing under the hood ?

I believe you can manually move the gates/doors under the dash and see what is going on, Can you get it to move to defrost by it's self ?

Heat and defrost work as they should. I just can't get it to blow out of the air conditioning vents.

Thanks Joe. I appreciate that link more than you know. I'm downloading it right now. I forgot you had links to FSMs. I downloaded some of them on my old computer but lost them all because I didn't backup my computer. When a hard drive craps the bed you lose a lot of important stuff.
