I have a 67 Barracuda that I want to put 275-60-15's on. The wheels are Ansen slotted mags 15X8 with 4 1/2 backspacing for a zero offset. It's going to have an A body 8 3/4 rear in it that is still on a parts car. Will they fit without scrubbing without any modifications???

I have 255 on the 67 I have there is 1 inch of clearance before it rubs on leaf spring.
same offset I have is what you are going to use short answer they will rub.

Those tires are pretty tall for a totally stock car. That's a ~28" tall tire on a car that fits a 25-26" tire normally.

Damn. I'm going to have to buy tires. I have a nice st of 275's already. I was afraid that was the answer I was going to get. Even with superstock springs?? Should give an extra inch or two of ride height.

they will fit perfect. A body rear with large bolt axles with 10 x 2.5 brakes?
if you have small bolt axles the tire will be real close to the springs, may have to run a 1/4 inch spacer.

Woody got a friend who got the same tires but on 7" same offset yesterday for a 68 coupe. i will give him a call later and verify fit.

275s might rub in the front. Some have no problems but I have 255/60-15s on the pretty much the same rims and there is only a little room between the front of the tire and back of the rocker panel. Hard to see but here is a picture.

I run 275/60/15 drag radials with SS springs and a stock width 8 3/4 rear and have never rubbed a tire.

I agree with Moparclown above. 275/60/15 fit easily. I'm running SS springs, and have a 4.25 backspace. Had to add 1/2" spacers though. They fill up the wheel well very nicely I might add!

I ran the same combo back in the 80's only centerline 8.5 not sure of back space but stock 8 3/4 with 4" bp no issues. Same setup going back on my rebuild now.

67 to 69 barracuda is the same as a duster wheel well. inner and outer wheel wells are the same part number. they fit great on my duster and barracuda i only have a picture of my duster. 275 60 15 on 15 x 8 4 1/4 backing space. if you us larger bolt axles with 10 x 2 1/2 brakes you will need 4 1/2 backing space on your rim.

I would like to see a profile and spring clearance picture of your cuda.

PS I like the red inside trim gives it a different look.

Thanks I appreciate that:D
I will try to get some pics for you,the Cuda is in pieces right now as I wiped the cam and I am in the process of a cam change.:banghead:

I just called my buddy he put them on.

275-60-15 on 7" SBP 4.5 BS 15" wheel. With 20psi He said they fit. 1-1/8 clearance in the front, 1.25 to the rear, but only 1/8 to the spring. He said 4.25 BS would have been the perfect wheel for spring to lip to fit using this tire.

Thanks guys. I guess I'm going to keep my tires and mount them and see. I'm a little ways from that yet. Got lots of work to do.

I love the way my 265/50r15s fit but they only still make that size in a hankook now, although there are a few Cooper Cobras old stock out there. Mine are TAs but they haven't made them in a while in that size.

Went to Carlisle this past weekend and checked out the Barracudas there to see wheel and tire clearance. Not one that I saw had a 275-60-15 on it. Biggest I saw had a 255-60-15 on it.

I have 275/60B14's on rallys. I have about 1/4" between the tire and the rear leaves. Outside is close too, about 1/2" to the wheelwell lip.
