I'm looking for one of those plates that bolt to the intake manifold for engine pulling. Anybody have an idea where to get one, ore have one for sale?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies.

Any problems / risks with the carb or intake bolts not holding? I just like the idea of not having to figure how to bolt or wrap a chain to an engine. I've seen lots of pictures on here with the plate being used. No problems?

Thanks

Me too!! But anytime I have seen them used on fabo, I asked and no-one has ever had an issue....carb bolts are only 5/16" arent they??

...and sometimes they're threaded into an aluminum intake manifold!!! .....Yikes!! ...700+ lbs (engine + trans)hanging on that??...No way, Jose!!!

I use the plate or the chains and other than scratching up nice paint with the chain I have never had an issue with either one. If I was worried about the plate I would run chain through the unused holes.

I don't know what a small block weighs but when I was younger, me and one other guy could pick one up to load it in a pick up.

I own, and use that Macs Pivot Plate all the time. Most useful tool I have. Don't worry about the intake, it'll be just fine. I've hoisted an iron headed big block with an A833 iron 4 speed trans bolted to it in a car, with an aluminum manifold. Zero problems. They will hold just fine.

In fact you can see my pivot plate bolted to my aluminum headed small block in my sig pic. lowered that in my A-body with the 4 speed attached to it as well.
