List The Mopars You Missed Out On...

Another One,

December 1972

* 1970 Dodge Dart 'Swinger 340' - 4-Speed - Color; C7 Plum - White Vinyl-Top - White Interior - White Bumble Bee Stripe -
Performance Hood Treatment w/Dual Scoops and Hood Tie-Down Pins

* The owner was going back into the Military in 2-Weeks

* Only wanted $1700 {approximate}, for the 'Showroom Condition Dart'

* We agreed on the price, but he said that he needed to keep the Dart for another 2-Weeks,
then I could come back and pick it up.

* I gave him a $100 Deposit.

* I called him back in 2-Weeks but nobody answered. After a few more 'unanswered' Telephone calls,
I headed over to his house with my friend {25 miles away} with $1600 Cash in my pocket.

* Upon arriving, there it was in the driveway......'totalled'......and with the front-nose gone, front-frame
twisted like a pretzel, and the engine and transmission already removed {and sold}.

* He had gotten drunk one-night, and attempted to drive the Dart through an Oak Tree.

* He asked me if I wanted the rest of the car for another $200.

* Funny Guy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* I had wanted it, to race it the 'upcoming NHRA Stock Class for 1973, {as the NHRA had gone back to Pure-Stock}.

* The 1970 Dodge Dart 'Swinger 340' weighed in at {#3179 lbs.}, and it fit perfectly into 'F/S' for 1973, with the new
NHRA Horsepower factors.
