who likes lawn tractors

Edit, don't know what happened

Just sold the Cletrac project, a 20R Toyota powered, 4 speed + original 3 speed. They'll have to bury me in the Dart or the little Farmall

I sold the crawler, as I had once thought our family property would sell, I'd have enough to buy a small place out of town. But it still isn't sold, looks like I'll be in court with that, and my health is getting to where I don't think I CAN move. Except in the winter with snow on the street, no real use for it.

Interesting! My 80+ year old neighbor lady used to drive around her yard in one just like this, but it wasn't a twin cylinder.

I may have that model. I bought a junker some time ago, was thinking of putting the engine from the grey one in. It's yellow just like the SS 16 but has a ?12? 14? hp single. Engine is junk in that one.

All mine currently are "garden tractors" differentiated from "lawn tractors" by larger, bolt on rear whees VS the slide on keyed axle wheels.

well, This was my grandfathers and he tractor pulled it years ago. He retired and gave it to my cousins. I went up there to there barn and the engine, seat and all the wiring was stripped out and laying on the ground. so,I took it as soon as I could and got it repainted in the same color and stickers my grandfather had it before

in progress and finished pics......

NOTE: see air cleaner decal

Cool thread Rani, have to dig thru and find a pic of Dad on his White, has a Kohler engine with a 50" deck I believe. Nice ride and he bought the snowblower attachment for it as well. Worked for me, as he gave me his new Craftsman walk behind snowblower. I have an old Lawnflite that is black and orange Loris mom was tossing when she moved and I brought it home. Needs some work and Lori asks me every 3 months to get rid of it....Im hoping its still there when I get back!!

Here is my Kubota BX 24, I got sick of hiring half *** contractors to do work for me so when I bought a new mower I bought it with a backhoe and bucket.

I had thought about buying a backhoe attachment for mine but ended up buying an old Ditchwitch rider trencher instead since I mainly do underground lines.

My youngest and his friend on our Branson 3820. Its a very hard working lil tractor.

When you've been cutting the grass for free for the past 10 years when your parents promised to pay you for it, you get burned out... :D I hate cutting grass, but I do it anyway.

Heres my 65 IH cub cadet 100, its got a ported and relieved 10 hp kohler, shaved head, chromo driveshaft, billet flywheels, kevlar clutch disc. mows like a mf'er

why would your parents pay you for doing stuff around the house.:laughing::laughing:

you should do it bcoz thats whats good sons do ...........im just giving you a hard time but if you have good parents then your very lucky to be cutting their grass

i live with my adoptive parents rent free and if they have to ask me to do a chore then im feeling shame .....after what parents do for us....not pickin on you but just sayin :razz:

i have this one that is going to be a project someday lol....

i plan to paint it up like a mopar ....probably HEMI orange ......this one is a 93/4 model and served its purpose very well but no one took care of the cosmetics before i came along and the deck has a bad bearing ......the red one replaced this one but i dont agree with it being kicked to the curb like this when it runs great so i am planning to get this into shop someday real soon and make it outshine the new ones :D
I want one of those small rear engine jobs to restore. I need to find a project.

home built garden tractor with a 170 cu in v6 from a 1964 mustang. With two a833 4 speed transmissions mounted together to have 16 gears and lots of grunt. The rear axle is a cut down 8 3/4 with 3:91 ratio (axle shafts were cut then splines welded back to the shortened axles) This was built back in the 70's. Tractor was mainly used for spraying between cedar trees along the fence lines, harrowing the driveway and never got its sickle bar mounted or its mower deck. Still fires up and bombs around with its open headers. Can run 100 mph if you have balls of steel. I have had it running at about 70 mph but had to back it down when i flew by a cop :)

Good lord, dude......I think I just got that "gleam" in my eyes. I could seriously do a cool resto on a li'l tractor like this! I've also got a soft spot in my heart for old Internationals.

i spent a few hours this morning cleaning up the rani mower ......its a year old and the deck was pretty green underneath so i removed the deck and scrub brushed it all clean.

and the hood had scratches on it from when someone set a dusty box of christmas lights on it during the winter :banghead:....so i used perfect-it 3 and buffed out the hood and then waxed it with carnuba wax .......now the hood reflects like a mirror :prayer: (see the sun behind the clouds in it :D)

i love the clean cast aluminum look of a newer Briggs and Straton.

now i need to reset the seat adjustment and get back on the turf.

who else loves lawn tractors ?....i dont mean those who simply use one to cut grass but those who love the sweet sound and every last aspect of them

I dont have one, but wouldent mind having one with cruise control, and a beer holder, oh and headlights like tim taylor says so i can mow in the dark LOL.
