Update: 4500 miles on the rebuild and I started to have problems with the 727 transmission slipping on warm up. Took it to Schuck's in Dublin and found out the bands are burnt and the clutch packs are black, valves where sticking and not shifting right so it looks like a new transmission is in order. Hope to have it back by the weekend with a new 727 in, burning rubber and not clutch packs.

So I got her back and I've put about 500 miles on the new transmission.
The difference is night and day and the way it shifts I see lots of black lines in my future :burnout:
Also I am thinking of moving my rear shock brackets down because the rear end moves around like a belly dancer. I do like the rake of the car but I think I'm going to try to lower it 1-2" in the rear just above the rear rim.

I'll take a couple of pics before and after and see what you guys think.

Thanks Jeff I 'm glad to be back on the road. I finally got around to turning the pegs around for the shocks and what a difference.... Dropped the car 2"+ in the rear. I like the way it looked in the before but the way the car rides now is a world better than when it was up. Not as harsh and better ride just not the rake that I like oh well....Let me know what you guys think and how much of a rake do you have.

Thanks guys. I think the next time I get tires I will go to a 255 tire in the rear (instead of the 225 I have now) as they will just fit in the wheel wells (about a 1/2" on each side) and that will raise it up a 1" or so in the rear so it doesn't look like it is sitting on the ground.

It looks good. I would try if it were mine to maybe get it to sit above the wheel well in the middle of the tires sidewall.

This is how mine is sitting with 215-60-15s all way around
Hope to soon go to a 245-60 or 255-60 on the back with different wheels

I have 225/60/15 in the back and will go to a 255/60/15 in the future.
I did raise it up a little in the back but not like it was. I found that when it was up like that the rear end seamed to bounce around and since I lowered it rides a lot better. I do miss the rake but I like the ride better.

Update: 8,000 on the rebuild and she is running great but will have to go into the body shop for repairs after a truck's tailgate drop down on the freeway and spread bathroom tile all over in front of me and three other cars @ 65 mph (will post pic later) and come to find out the guy has no insurance.....Well at least I have uninsured motorist but only for $3500 and it may not cover the cost of the repairs.......

Ken, Call me regarding body & paint.

Yes I'm alright but I can't say the same for the car. I know it doesn't look that bad but I know what it will take to fix it.

I'm just glad that I'm OK. A couple of weeks ago a man died in Livermore after a pipe or pole fell off the back of a truck.

Driver killed on I-580 in freak accident

So I count myself lucky, the car can be fix and I'm still here.

Nice car. I like it. Bummer about the tile, id be pissed... Looks good lower, remember you can regain some of the rake with the torsion bar adjustment of you wanted... Just need an alignment after...

Thanks joeboy, it's has been labor of love.
I don't have torsion bars anymore because I switched over to a RMS Alter-K-tion and got rid of the K frame and torsion bars.
To adjust the height in the front now I have adjustable coil-overs.

good choice on the trans shop, get my trans parts there.definatly need more rubber on the rear, regardless if its raised or lowered.tile truck, that sucks!no insurance...take them to court!remember the kids shooting a bb gun at cars on 680?was on my way to the wreckers and a window on a mini van was shot out.the glass was like a real bad hail storm.it pitted my grill, bumper, windsheild.that was when my car still had a beak.allstate gave me 1260.00 and i bought the 71 front clip....

They are a labor of love for sure. RMS, of course... And I'm jealous... That's on my someday list.

It was a DIY's truck with no company name on it and I could take them to court Mike but the likely hood of me getting any money out of this guy is slim to none. I believe he will have to live with himself and what he has done and that's his payment.

I don't know if anybody else noticed, I didn't until yesterday when I was taking these pics, That the passenger side windshield wiper is gone.....

Car looks OK (cause you know where the damage is but everyone else doesn't see it).Went out to Sacramento show on Saturday . Took home 3rd place for A body Dodge. Posted some pics of the show. It was a nice day to hang out in the park.
