Super Stock Springs and 60' foots

Who's using them? What's you 60's and are you satisfied.

I have a N/A small block 74 Duster, all steel, only a fiberglass front bumper, no snubber, Rancho rear shocks and C/E 90/10s in the front.

Best 60 so far on 275 60 M/T street/drag radials 1.475

I liked mine, they worked better then my Cal Tarcs.
Nice car, leave it alone, it seems to be working great.

Got a set of the 002/003 on our 71 Duster. Using CE shocks on all 4 corner..90/10 up front. All steel except bumpers also...but new fiberglass hood is in the process of going on car.

Best 60 ft so far in Vegas is 1.592 with a 11.72 @ 113...

Engine is a 10 to 1 360 with OOTB Eddy heads with howards 242 @.050 .562 lift cam.,,,eddy air gap and 750 dp.
 
I'm with bajavan, it seam to be hooking well, add some front spring clamps to keep the front segment from folding up and run with it!!!

I have only used SS Spring and work well with a mild stall, 340 and 4:56 gears. not nearly putting the load to the chassis that you are. :D

ignorance is costly. I used a snubber and beat the floor to pieces.
what pinion angle do you use? aluminum spring eye bushings? Thanks! Bob
 
Thanks for the replies, 002/003 springs with rubber front bushings, I need to double check the pinion angle I think it's 8* down, rear shackles are spaced approx. 30* outward.

Looks like they are working well. I'd leave them alone. Like the spacer.
 
1.47 is a nice 60' Looks to be getting it pretty good. As the springs wear , clamping really helps. But it wouldn't hurt to do it right away.
 
I have my super stocks clamped. 3360lb dart 340 with a stick 29.5x9 and a 5.13 best 60' was 1.50 lots of times. 1.51 1.52 the last I ran it but the tires were just about shot. Clamping the front was worth .03's. I would say yours is working great.
 
like the spacer idea to help get the rear shackle.....
 
noob question: the rear shackle should be like this for best function of the springs? If it´s not in this position, a spacer should fix it?

W2, think how much faster that thing would 60' with a set of Cow-tracks :)
 
I 60ft low 1.60's in a 3550 lbs 67 belvedere, using ss springs and a snubber. all on a 27 in tire. 4.30 gears with a 440. I UNCLAMPED the REAR clamp from each spring, and picked up .08 on average. I also use the CE shocks all around, and slant 6 torsion bars.
 
I remember from the 90's with SS springs on my 72 Dart sport 440 ci,hemi 4 speed, dana rear with 4.10's. 29x10 inch slicks. the rear spring did not come with spring clamps on the rear section of spring. They where I think at the time 3600 lbs springs. The rear section would untorque and I thought that was a problem. After research the springs where designed to untorgue. The 60 foot was in the 1.3. Car was a low 11.00 car. Boy I miss that car!

hey very nice car. what et does it run. my 73 dart weighs 3520 with me in it. i have the C/E 90/10 on the front, mid 80 dodge ramcharger shocks on the back and the mopar 002/003 super stock springs.they have the factory stock rubber bushing in them still. with the same set of tires 275 60 M/T street/drag radials and 4.30 gears. I have been a best of 1.48 in the 60 foot.that was with a 9.5 Dynamic that stalled around 4400. i have sense then installed a 8 inch Ati that is soposed to stall at 5200 but have not had a chance to try the new converter yet.
 
Put a set on the Duster about 10 years ago. 60 foot times were inconsistent, then the springs were both bent in the front in the front segment by the end of the season. It appears that they were made in Mexico. Put on a Caltrac setup, haven't looked back.
 
On my 002 / 003's it was as simple as a hunk of 1 1/2 " dia. aluminum.
Drilled a 3/4 " hole and a pressed a steel sleeve in it.....drilled that to 5/8ths , greased the bolt , done deal.
The 1 1/2" goes in with light pressure in a press. I wouldn't be surprised if you could pound them in with a dead blow hammer.
 
Hey do the spacers on the rear spring mounts help with the pinion angle? I have 4 degrees of spacers on on mine and I can only get about one degree of down angle
