It was the end of 1970, and Charlie Castaldo {Scarsdale, New York} was selling his
Super/Stock Hemi Dart.

Charlie lived about 25 miles south of us.

Charlie had a 'For Sale' sign on Dart, and was asking about $6500 for the car, plus
a bunch of 'related Hemi parts' {Cylinder Heads, Pistons, Camshafts, etc.}

Charlie had been running the car in both Pro Stock and A/MP in 1970, but it was
still a 'pristine Super Stock car' and not hacked up.

I begged my father to try to buy it, but he 'wouldn't pull the trigger'.

One Sunday after racing at Dover Drag Strip in November 1970 {end of the season},
we met Charlie at the local Diner in Wingdale, and asked him about the Dart. He
said he was having a difficult time selling it, and had lowered the price.

I told my father to 'Make-A-Deal' as Charlie was a good guy and would probably
be flexible.

My father never made an offer..........

Here is the Dart in July 1969.
