Ya, have some good friends that i grew up with that have been there for quite a while and love it. I don't like winter in new england. Makes me just want to stay indoors. I want to be able to drive my car and bike all year round.

I don't like winter anywhere, and the older I get the less I like it at all. Couple that with ultimatums and a few new stressors and it makes for life changes that are my idea.

I have been contimplating a move for a few years, but couldn't get myself to walk away from a good job that i had for 18yrs. But now i've been laid off for 10 months and dosen't look like i'll be going back. So if i have to start over now would prob be a good time to do it.

Done thanks Cuba chick ! I have to ask this , is that you and your car in the pic on your posts?

That's her and her car. When she first got it painted and had it brought home, I had to wear sun glasses to look at it. It's BRIGHT.

I got this email today from Zee Maps, the provider of our FABO Members' Map. It's essentially self-explanatory ...

"Hi there,

To improve the performance of ZeeMaps, we've added some hardware and improved our software.

In addition, we are making ZeeMaps performance monitoring publicly available through a third-party monitoring site (Pingdom) that you can see at: http://status.zeemaps.com. When you visit the performance overview page, click on any of the individual pages for response time metrics. This status page is on a different server than ZeeMaps, so it is also a good URL to check in case ZeeMaps access is not working for you.

Our goal continues to be to give you the best performance for your maps, regardless of the number of markers, or data on the map.

From the Pingdom reports, you'll see that we are getting sub-second response times for all monitored pages, including map pages. Read more about how it works in our blog entry.

Let us know if you have any issues with ZeeMaps performance, and we'll address it right away.

Sincerely,

The ZeeMaps Team.

Here's an update from ZeeMaps, our FABO Members' Map hosting company, just as an FYI and bump for more additions!! :-D

"Hi there,

Just wanted to update you on a recent change in ZeeMaps.

Sometimes you may have a map with markers on the same location, e.g., different offices in the same building. When we plot the markers for such maps, the multiple markers stack on top of each other, so it is hard to understand that there are multiple markers in the same location.

We’ve introduced a new mechanism that will label multiple markers on the same location with English alphabets: A, B, C, etc. When you see marker with an alphabet letter on it, you’ll know that there are multiple markers in that location.

When you click on the topmost location, the markers will cycle through so that the next click will bring up the marker below.

For example, this map of Austin bars and restaurants, has a few markers labelled with alphabets.

The labels are added when you set the Settings -> Markers -> Label overlapping markers option in your map.

The labels will not be added for marker clusters, custom icons, or small markers. They are added only to normal-sized "teardrop" pins.

Thanks. With warm wishes, The ZeeMaps Team"

Just checked the map and I am still there. Pretty cool map with all the dots!!

Yes Richie, it's filling up pretty nicely! I'd love to know if any mini-FABO clubs or groups have been able to form (or at least meet once or twice) as a result of it.

As an aside, I haven't talked to you in a long time. Hope you're doing well and those washers are holding up! :-D

I cannot believe there are No members from Newfoundland nor PEI, only 2 from Nova Scotia and 8 from New Brunswick. That is only 10 from Atlantic Canada...

Talk about MOPAR wastelands...we gotta get the word out ...

there are lots of "Mopar desolate" areas. I even posted a couple craigslist ads to try and get the word out about this site in my area

Well, we will have next summer to pass a few handbills out at all the car shows we have.

The idea about posting on Craigslist (Kijiji for us) is pretty good.
