360 oil pan help

i have a 68 valiant with 273 will the oil pan work on a 78 360 ?
i went to jegs and they gave me a pan for 72-89 center sump #555-50272, my car is center sump also, will the one for 72-89 work ? im buying parts for the switch over for this winter and dont want the pan i bought sitting around if it wont work. thanks for the help...
 
Not sure. I bought a "factory replacement" Milodon pan form Summit for about twice the money. I see it has now gone up

The thing that you must carefully watch for, and I do NOT understand why both the pan stampers and oil pump people --sometimes one in the same people --cannot cure this---

is that some pumps interfere with the rear of the pan. Generally, you need a pump with countersunk cover bolts and even then sometimes grind the rear top edge off the rear of the pump cover The point is, mock this up and check carefully
