Hey guys, I've tried doing some research but haven't found much. I am curious if anyone knows if a 4 speed setup (less pedals & steering column) will fit into my 72 scamp. The floor hump looks like it will work, but what about everything else? The setup is said to be from a v8 (small block) car. Any insight would be much appreciated.

67-69 stuff won't have a clutch safety switch on it, but it will physically bolt in.

I can only suggest you find out exactly what the origin was. I talked with a guy who bought a 71 Duster and found the 4 speed trans installed by previous owner came from a 1st gen' / pre 67 A-body.
Small differences at pilot shaft and bushing, speedometer cable, etc.., made for a few small headaches.
Good luck

Do it.

Vin on the trans case tells a story.

For what it's worth, I'm building a transmission out of parts from about six different vehicles.

Case from a b body, gear set and input from a late model truck, F body main shaft, Shifter from a B body, shift mount and tailshaft from an A body and a bellhousing from an E body, pedals and floor from a late A body.

Most of this stuff is the same.
