Not sure if I'm missing anything
Engine is still getting built, bored at home and thought I'd see what ya think

1/8 mile 7.0 1/4 mile 11 flat if not a bit faster Just My thought on it..:D:burnout:

My first good laugh this evening Rob :D Do you think he will smoke'em on the line and not get a bite :D, he may have to peddle it off the line but I think after a few runs he will get it down pat

The converter will probably be the limiting factor, but how early you're willing to apply the juice may counteract it some. I'm not gonna go as far as Skrews at this point, just get her out there and make some passes. The info you'll accumulate will be priceless and help guide you to where you need to go with adjustments...

Honestly, with the fresh combo that you have, if you run some 12's after 2/3 passes and bring it home in one piece, i'd be thrilled with the intial outing.

Good luck, and keep us posted as you finish the build...:thumleft:

Thanks a lot Rick. , this isn't my first drag/street car. I'll be using a window switch probally start spraying at 3500 rpm. What convertor would you recommend ,keep in mind this will mostly be a street car.
This is just the set up I'll be starting with until parts start breaking. And i have an excuse to upgrade Lol

High to mid 12's on motor, high to mid 11's on the bottle.

It should 12.20ish on engine and 11.00 on juice. Not really enough gear on engine for a 340 with that tall of a tire. It will like the juice a bunch with that gear.

All gonna depend on 60's

Thanks a lot guys. I agree if it were mainly a track car I would definitely be running better gears , but I need to keep it streetable
Ill keep ya guys updated

Convertor...........needs at least 4500 stall.
340'S run better with gear and stall.

12 seconds on juice....13 seconds on motor.

With convertor....12 seconds on motor and high 11 seconds on juice.

That's a really big tire for 3.91's.
I believe it's a 30 inch tall tire.

That's like running a 28 inch tall tire with 3.23's.(2800 stall)

It's 60 foot will be very slow.

Thanks I woul like to get 4.11 gears. I'm not gonna race it too often, we don't even have a track here anymore. And I don't wanna jeopardize street ability with a giant stall convertor.

I just upgraded heads to edelbrock aluminum performer RPM heads.....

Thanks for all the comments guys. As I stated before as parts break I will upgrade hahaha the rear end and transmission set up were from the previous owner , and don't have the fund right now to get all the right goodies.
Was just curious what ball park she would run with current set up

Thanks again!!

While your engine is being built, find a reputable torque convertor supplier and give him all your specs(tire size, gear, camshaft,(spray),suspension, intended use for the car(street?track on weekends?)The convertors made today are allot different than 10-15 yrs ago.Often an overlooked part for any type of street/muscle car build.

Thanks can anyone tell me how high of stall is too much stall when installed on a street/strip car.

;most above yours. Perfect ,to the tee. Let the torque converter rep choose. Cope Racing transmissions(on this website, races Mopars personally.),Turbo Action,Munsinger,Continental, all good.
