Air gap versus MP M1?

FWIW, I have a 408 stroker, 9.6:1 with Edel RPM's, 1 5/8 hookers, 3" exhaust, 236I242E .545 lift hyd roller, Dana 60 w/3.73's and (at the time) 727 with a 4000 stall 9.5" converter. TQ 850.

Both of the below intakes have been gasket matched with some plenum work.

I had the M1 single plane on the car, pulled great at the strip, best 12.003 @ 111, shifting aroun 6500.

I installed a Weind stealth, and the idle picked up 2" vacuum (to ~10 @ 850 rpm), idles nice, and significantly increased the bottom end responsiveness. I really could not tell a difference in the top end pull, but have not run it at the strip.

I will not reinstall the M1. It look cool, but the Weind runs much better through the power curve, and makes the car much more streetable.

I bought an off brand Air Gap knock off at a swap meet, but it has a square flange, and I can't use the TQ. (did not think that one through...)

Good Luck!
