Advancing timing is good ,, but your accelerator pump likely isn't working, or not working well..
Engine off, look down the throat of carb and observe the shot of gas that occurs when you open the throttle.,, ANY,, ANY delay in that squirter, is your hesitation..
Adjust the linkage that activates the pump till you get squirt the INSTANT you move the throttle.. hope it helps
