Please discuss the following CL ad...curious as to what people here think

-
very nice ...but priced too high

and biggest problem is that is not a 73 ....73 did not have the body mounted tail lights ...so that's 74+

if it was unrestored it wouldn't have that stripe and hood ......way too nice for an unrestored claim

Looks clean and straight, but price is top dollar, and I think those stick-on scoops reduce the value by 2x whatever the scoops cost plus the cost of repainting the hood.

for 8K, you can get a lot more car, elsewhere.

Maybe it's just me but unrestored and original would at least be numbers matching. Pretty much everything he says about it after the title means it is not original. Geez, some people have no idea what they are saying, or are just flat out lying.

I hate those fakeass wannabe hood scoops.

Not original!!! Not unrestored!!! Once the engine was changed I would call it modified, I would have to say the engine has to at least be the original cu. in. for it to be a survivor and unrestored.

I bought my 73 Dart with original paint, 77,000 miles, AC and 318 with some goodies for $3500. May not be as nice as this one, but not far off either.

Yeah, f that clown.

Holy sh**......you guys are brutal! I also was looking closely at that door area for overspray, but I couldn't see any or really tell for sure. I dunno, yeah, the scoops are puke, but that car's not THAT bad for the money, if it's a 100% rust-free car, 8 3/4 sure-grip, real early 340 with manifolds......I mean, plus he'd probably take an offer. I've certainly seen 10 times more ridiculous cars/prices.

Dude didn't really come across as a dick either.....

Found this on CL this evening...

Curious as to what FABO thinks of this 73 Dart...

I see it as a clean car that is clearly MISrepresented.
Calling this car an unrestored original leads buyers to believe that it is as built by Ma Mopar. This means original engine, trans, axle and brakes. It means original paint and interior. This car has aftermarket wheels, a non stock BB stripe, a 340 engine and an axle that wasn't available after the 1972 Dart production ended.
Having stated that, I'd think that the upgrades could only ADD value to this car. Lets face it, the Dart styling from 1973-76 is not the most desireable. The Dart Sport at least has the Duster type roof and quarters. The 73-76 Dart coupe has an ugly front and back end. My opinion, of course.

my biggest worry with this car is that if he is claiming its a 73 and if the vin says 73 ...then its a re-body .....it don't have the osac valve on the firewall and has body mounted tail lights ....that is NOT a 73

68 Cuda 340 Formula S survivor.... Low miles... Never been touched...all original including paint...45,765.00 firm

shes right, My 73 dart has the four ugleee taillights in the bumper...that car has small bolt circle cragars in the rear and big bolt cragars on the front still looks like a clean California car as advertised and the modified items are in the advertisement so i'm sayin not a misrepresented car but miscategorized....it should say modified survivor car after all that's what it is...anything they changed can be put back....the scoops and the tailpipes are gay/queer/not acceptable/don't belong/ugleeeeeeeee sure looks like signs of overspray under the driver door wheatherstripping Just Sayin

Hell... I'd trade straight across for a few hours with your moving avatar......

let me put it this way, the seller advertised his 1974 dart as a 1973 thats never had any work done for paint, no engine work, he goes on to say its not the correct engine and the pictures cleary shows overspray in many spots

my thoughts are if your going to sell a car don't make claims you can't back up or else you may loose a sale. in this this guy probably has nothing more then a re-vin'd 1974 slant 6 dart

I emailed the guy with the concerns I had plus the ones some of you added here to see if he responds. Glad to see I was thinking the same things as the FABO network...

No, he seems completely straightforward about the fact that it was a 318, now it's a 340.

....the seller advertised his 1974 dart as a 1973

It could be as easy as a title mistake. I've seen that many times. And I still don't see any area that has red overspray.
