1nce you ride in a64/ 65 barracuda you"ll see and feel how special they really are .if you have the erge to buy an old muscle car to restore this is a gift ,believe me I have owned 13 of these in my life 1 I have had 38 years , 1 I bought 3 years ago to give to my granddaughter in 8 years and I have 1 parts car because I needed some parts and some 1 needed it gone. if your looking for looking for something very special ,have a little time to put back together here is your chance to get in .you may be helping him ,but you are also getting a steal on what parts he is offering you . g/l with your health first, and g/l on your car getting into the right hands ,they go back together very simple also
 
All the way out in Eastern Washington so I would be of no help to getting it done. It would truly be a shame to see your dream go away. Would be nice if some of the deep pocketed members, and you know who you are, kick some funds up to help get it done.....

I'm near Orland Park, IL. It is finally on the map now (it has grown). Southwest suburbs of Chicago/Northern Indiana. I'm about 20 miles from the IL/IN border. He's about 45 minutes from me (not including rush hour traffic) mostly north, a little west.

I know of a few other members nearby, still haven't met too many of them yet. If we could get the word to them and see if they can help....

Maybe we can get our "fearless leader", Joeychgo in on this also.
 
I'm about two and a half hours south of you. I don't know much specifically about putting cars together yet, but I do know how to turn a wrench. I'm currently unemployed, and don't have much in the way of money, but if we can set a date, I can make sure I put a little aside for gas to get up there to you. My wife has Crohn's disease, so we know a little of what you are going through. Let me know, and if I can make it, I'm there. Hang in there brother!
 
My prayers are with you. I just hope the guys that are close to you can get some thing going and get that Cuda on the road. If someone that is close gets a fund going I'll help out.
But mostly I wish you the best!
 
Come on guys. Anyone near Chicago/NW Indiana/southern Wisconsin, let's start posting up here and volunteer some time to help. I'm willing to put in some time on weekends.

Im with ya'll and getting together to help him out. Its been far too long since I have seen a "helping hand" thread. Yep there has been donations/auctions/benefits, but its been a while since I have read a thread where a group has gotten together puttin busted knuckles to work...I wish I was closer...

BTW glad to see ya back KK! Great clip LOL

We should be able to get some locals from nearby to help.

We also need to get the original poster to buy into this. If we go out and help him and then he has to sell the car anyway to pay the bills, our time is wasted.

I'm willing to help him save the car and get it back running. Not the way he originally planned/dreamed, but at least get it road worthy so he can drive and enjoy it. But if he would have to sell the car anyway to pay off his medical bills, then our efforts will be in vain. He should just sell the car as is.

sharko, we have chatted before,, very sorry to learn of your problems,,,shame im not living in streamwood ill any longer,, ide glaldly help im now in eastern PA i built this barracuda when i lived in streamwood,,,i lived there from 1976 till 1998,,,,good luck keep us posted,,,here is a bump for you,,,,

Who on here is nearby and can sit down with Sharko and lay out a plan to either build to keep or get ready to sell?
Once a plan is laid out, then make a checkoff list of things to do and things needed. Then a timeline can be laid out so that folks can donate money, parts, or time to get this thing done. I will contribute $$ and any parts I can spare and may even plan a trip to work on it a day or two.
Anybody want to step up?
 
I am rarely at home, and don't always have internet available to me, but I will keep my eye on this thread. I have a good rotisserie that would probably speed this along.
 
Thank You so much everyone, It means the world to me, I would love to keep the car and get her back on the street. If it got done I would personally promise to never sell the car, I just don't personally have the parts, money, or the health to get her back on the road, I would love to get it done and meet all the great members.
Thanks everyone you made my day after reading all the great posts, im willing to get this member project rolling if its possible.

I can go up and meet with him.

I can also throw a few parts "into the bin" and help him out.

I will clear out a few PM spaces and try to get his information.



Sharko/Shannon we're into this if you are, and it sounds like you are...
