I am next door in Pa.. Here, you would have to worry about annual state safety inspection. The regulations say "no steering or suspension modifications if the OEM parts are still available to purchase" . I will check to see if I can find it in print. Here you could get away with it because the inspection are done by private shops, but NJ is state run inspections.
