NOS 71 sharktooth grille & bezels

-
I remember the used fliptop gas caps for the second generation Barracudas and the Chargers used to bring good money and NOS was really expensive. I see a bunch of used ones cheap if they sell and NOS ones have came down to half price since the China repops came out. Needless to say there are people like Frank Mitchell that still thinks they are gold but he never sells one either.

The question is are the repops going to be worth owning or a piece of crap like the repop fan shrouds were? If the repops are junk the value of OEM parts will continue to rise.

I have Sharktooth Grille marker lights NOS in the box

What is the difference between the grey plastic and black?

are u sure
posilootly....iv'e seen a crapload of em still in there original condition...also i have never seen a 340 duster with a scoop...from the factory....only twisters....never seen a demon non 340 car with scoops,or a scoop.

1970 dusters had the two scoops didn't they? (No shark tooth grille tho) and 71 duster 340's didn't have the scoops except for the twisters. (Non 340 cars) I believe the 71-72 duster 340 and twister had the shark tooth grille as standard.

If your considering selling it... now is the time.
I would put $2,500.00 on it and slowly work down if nothing happens.
I wouldnt take any less then $2K for it unless I was hard up for cash.
At $2K I would stab it in your car and have the nicest one around. :)

Thats my .36 cents worth.

Any '71, '72 Duster could have a shark tooth (or as Plymouth called it the "unique grill".) My neighbor had a '72 318 Twister with one. While seen mostly on 340's for those two years. Any Duster could be ordered with one. And I'd say..If it's not cracked anywhere around $1500.00. I repainted a pristine one for a friend many years ago (Argent Silver) After laying down the flat black. I had to cover every tooth in the grill before shooting the silver. AND cover the black between the grill sections with heavy gauge weed trimmer round line...Sheeesh!

wrong :wack:

They are like anything else! It's only worth what someone's dumb enough to pay for it! But that's a very nice grill. You should hang on to it! Getting harder to find!!!

This is my favorite grille for the Duster.I have one that I rescued from the junkyard years ago, unfortunately one of the large middle slats has about a 1" break with a piece missing.

I would imagine an NOS in the box grille could get 2k.

Got a local shop that is going to swap my duster back to butterscotch and im just going to put the grill in it. Id rather use the NOS than a repop or a dried up repaired one

I had a 72 twister . Latter stripe no scoops with a sharkstooth

In 1973 I also had a 1971 Sizzler winchester gray 318 3spd. with hood stripe and snorkle. no air holes in hood. also had wing and mirrors, buckets hood pins and turn indicaters.

71 Demon hoods had the snorkle scoop access bolt holes on the inner. The scoop was available. I believe dealer installed on request.

I also bought a 1969 corronet R/T 440 six pack motor. Dealer installed. You could get what ever you wanted back then. A/C in a 4 speed was also dealer installed. Smart dealers would order a 3 spd A/C car and install the 4spd. instead of putting the aftermarket a/c in the 4spd. car. I have a 70 duster ordered like this 340 3 spd with a/c with 4spd trans installed new. The only option on this car was A/C not even tinted glass.

These grills were only on '1971 340 cars and Twisters. They were also on the '72 340 Dusters. Not on the '72 Twisters. I have seen enough original ones to know. The Twisters with rallye wheels did not come from the factory with trim rings either. I have a '71 Twister and know exactly how it came.

I have never seen a 340 Duster that was original wearing hood scoops either. Not available. The scoops were a Twister item.
