I finally got myself a slant 6 motor to toy with and placed it on a engine stand that I purchased from Harbor freight rated at 200 lbs with foldable legs. It seems to hold the motor fine, but it seems top heavy. Before I begin to try and rotate the motor, should i hook up my crane to it to stabilize it?

Also the holes I used to mount to the stand are one on the bottom right of the block that connected to the tranny, one on the right behind at the top of the block, one on the bottom left that connected to the tranny, and the one on the top left that is the top hole mount for the starter when it is on the motor.

Are these good mounting points?

Yikes moparkid. That stand only has three legs. The only thing we use those for is Vw engines.

Trust me. The one Vali68 has is a good one. I have one, too. My Hemi is sittin on it and it doesn't flinch.
