Looking at a Trans for Victoria need input.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the crank on a slant setup for manual transmissions may be different than one from an automatic. Though it may just be that there's an insert that just needs taken out. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't personally know, but I recall reading that the hole in the crank is different in manual cars. As I recall, it is the same diameter, but deeper since a bearing sits in there for the clutch. Sorry, I know little about manual trannys. If true, a "too deep" hole shouldn't be a problem.

I have also read that if you change both the torque converter and the input shaft to ones from an earlier tranny (67- ?), it will work with the early engines. I wouldn't put a used tranny in a car without rebuilding it first anyway. I read people talk of having the snout of a later tranny machined down to fit, but worry if there is enough metal. Is the snout hollow or solid?
