"Run and Gun" Fantasy or Practical?

Your thread is based on the whole premise of having to use your weapon in a home defense situation , of course the best solution is always escape as I said time and distance are the best weapon but that wasn't the scenario you proposed so answers are being given based on your proposal , having been shot at and stabbed in my life I have real experience in life and death situations not simulated training situations . Any instructor worth a damn will tell you mounting a light to your weapon is stupid carrying one in your off hand to flick on and off from an off angle to light an area is acceptable but darkness is your friend making mounted lights and lasers dead give away's .
