Mopar 400 2bbl

"Sorry Mike, didn't finish the last race.
We had fast time, finished 2nd in the heat race. The car was pushing, but we didnt make any changes because the rear was hooked up and we thought that as the track cooled, the push would go away. when the main rolled around i again started in back (they invert the order) the problem with this is if a fast car sandbags during qualifying, they end up in front in the main with all the other fast cars in the rear. that happened last night. one fast car started the main in front so after 10 laps he was half a track ahead of everyone else. I started in the very back, made some great moves and was in 2nd by the 10th lap. I spent the next 10 laps running him down. about 2 laps after I broke away from the pack, I had a 1/4 lap lead on the other cars. The car was dialed in and i was moving. I caught the leader at about lap 20, spent a few lap behind him waiting for him to go into the corner too fast and wash up. he did, I slid under him and passed him like he was not even there. I ran in the lead for about 8 laps, had a comfortable lead of about 6-8 cars ahead of him and nothing to stop me. then coming out of turn 4, I felt the rear end shift and i started to get a vibration. two laps later, the transmission blew. The car had so much torque that it broke the center bolt that holds the leaf springs together, that allowed the right rear axle to move back and forth on the leaf springs when i would accelerate and slow down. The rapid angle changes on the drive line eventually was too much for the transmission and it blew. It was a moral victory because it was hooked up and running great and i stomped their asses big time. I took a hit in the points and lost the point lead, but I am only 7points out and have 4 races left. I can do that. I totally blame this on you. That engine was a torque monster and broke my car. I will get her fix and kick some ***."

Oh well, cant win them all!
