We are getting close to giving away the 70 road runner
This is our first car we have raffled off and as such we can only estiimate what the final $ amount will be.
I can tell you first hand though that becoming a 501c3 and selling 5000 tickets is waaayyyy harder than we ever thought it would be. It also is way harder since none of the 3 charities will do ANYTHING in the way of helping us to market the event. At least they all agreed to take money after.
Here is our plan:
First - sell all of the tickets. As of now we are only about half way there.
Second - give the car away.
Third - tally all of the expenses incurred.
Fourth - split the proceeds 4 ways. 50% to our 501c3 to start the build car # 3 and pay for raffle # 2 and the other 50% will be split between the 3 other non profits.
Fifth - turn over all of our accounting to the state as required as a 501c3.
As far as volunteers goes we only have 2; us and we do everything. We build the cars. We market the cars. We maintain and store the cars. We spend a bunch of time answering emails and posts like this, answering phone calls, going to shows, and mailing stuff out.
But lets not forget that we outright donated the first 2 complete cars and the starting point for the third.
Here are a couple of more pics and a link to a video taken by a guy at a recent show.
