So, I was putting in my new HD springs from espo and said hey, these are stiff , lets (me and the dog) lower the car a bit. Everyone says flip your hangers, so I friggin tried that.

My hangers have a bolt pattern matching my car that does not allow them to flip unless I ream / redrill holes which I aint about to do on this car. It is specifically designed so drunk people at the factory cannot install the hangers upside down. Am I missing something here?

Do the multi hole hangers from arengineering fit my factory hanger bolt pattern or am I going to have to ream to make them fit too?

Any light shed on this situation is much appreciated.

Yes you need to open the holes and if you really look, you will see that you only need to slot them a little.

Doing this does nothing to the car except allow you to flip the hangers. I really don't understand why people panic about this.

Or

You can spend 30-50 bucks for new hangers.

Some, like myself cut the 2 sides off the hanger, flip them, add as much as an inch to move the rear wheel back in the wheel well too. Weld them back together and done.
I put a metal cutting disc in my table saw which removed 1/8 in the sides length ( studs tips against the saws fence ). Adding 3/16 X 3/4 flat bar moved the rear wheels back 5/8".

The hangers that were on my Barracuda when I got it had been flipped, but the stud holes in the hangers had been slotted. It would have been better if the studs had been welded back in place, but it worked. They aren't going back in, though.

I don't have anything against slotting the holes, BUT, it seems to me a better idea to get hangers with multiple holes. That way, if you decide to change it later, it's easy. I have 1" longer bracket on my Coronet with multiple holes. I like them.
