At some point we are going to build another garage. It is going to be a work only garage. Hope to put a lift in it. Want it to be large enough to work in with out being overly big. I have been paying attention to the space I am using now, it is 12' wide by 36' deep, basically one bay of the 4 car garage. So what are you fine folks using space wise?

30' x 36' x 12'6" and it needs to be at least double that. It all depends on how much equipment you are going to put in it. I am a equipment nut so my equipment takes a quite a bit of room.

You - can't - have - too - much, LOL. I don't have any.

I have 24' X 24' and I need at least double that, so I would say 48' X 48'. Make sure you put tall ceilings in it for a hoist later on down the road.

24' x 32' 3 car garage only fit 2 between the work bench and tools and still not enough
Need to build a lean-to on the back 16' x 32' just to hold body parts, motors, big parts and other cars

well what ever your size you choise build two and they both will be filled take my word fort

It is just for one car. The other building will be for everything else. Not really an equipment junkie. Do have a engine hoist, welders etc. but will only have them in the garage when they are needed. This will just be a working garage, not one for storing crap....

Just sold my 24 x 32 shop and bought a shop that is 30 x 65 with two lifts. I'm having trouble finding places to put all the stuff out of that small shop in this larger space. Can't figure how all this stuff came out of that little shop!!
