Hey guys....

been putting this off for awhile because I was having trouble finding them. But the duster is just about finished and I need to get it taken care of.

I have a set of the twin scoops for my duster. a total of 8 of the mounting studs are missing. I am sure I can find something SIMILAR the factory but would likely have to drill the openings in my hood to except a larger mounting stud.

Id prefer to have the factory studs and not have to mess around with that.

does anyone know if any local hardware.home improvement stores carry any studs like what I need? ( so far I have not any luck).....and is there anywhere on the web that sells them that isnt a ridiculous price ( I seen one place wanted like $80 for a set of 16.....no way am I paying that for some tiny bolts lol. I think I found some on one site for around $35 shipped but even that sounds a little pricey...so I am trying to see if there are any alternatives.

ALSO another question I have is....is there any sort of gasket or spacers or anything that are suppose to go under the scoops to prevent them from resting on the paint?

if anyone has some info or even has some extra studs laying around that they would like to part with please let me know!. Thanks in advance guys.

the studs have a lip on them and then use ribbon caulk before mounting and that becomes the shock between the paint and scoop. the factory nuts have the dum-dum in them, also. the cousre thread goes into the scoop and the fine machine thread is for the nut.
sorry to say but $5 each is about the going rate. I know RT specialties has the nuts

I bought a set of new scoops Mopar reproductions. Did not come with any ribbon. However, they did have some round felt washers that go around each stud. To keep it off the paint.

Try contacting First Place Auto Parts, I don't see them on their web site but I know they sold them separately at the Mopar Nats a few years ago.

I never had any luck finding them and the ones I did find online we're ridiculously priced and I was not about to pay that kind of money for a few nuts. My father works at a shop and ended up taking some studs out of a couple sets of exterior car mirrors that were the same style studs I needed. Then I just went to the hardware store and picked up some nuts for them and installed them. Worked out perfect.

So I case anyone else has trouble find them or does not want to pay big bucks for them. Go to your local scrap yard and ask if they have a pile of exterior mirrors you can grab some studs out of.
