Brake Drum Width?

Axles are Yukon 4.5 patten, green bearing. The drum fits all the way up to the axle flange. Drum ID measures 2.25". The shoes measure 1.75". I picked all this stuff up separately, with long intervals in between and I must have miss matched somewhere. I would like to put about what would come on a 69 GTS, What do I need to make my stuff match up?

I'm in the middle of a mix 'n' match too. I'm gonna get stuck buying 11X2 1/2" drums for '68 b-body rear. More money than I wanted to dish out.

I still don't know what you did, but it looks like you will need larger drums. Are they 10" or 11". I'm guessing you can fit 2.5" shoes. If not, then I can only guess that the axels are too long, or the rear has been narrowed, or from a different body style and altered to fit.

Give us all the lengths and widths of what you do have, (part numbers if you have them) and the backing plate size, maybe this would be easy to figure where it went wrong.
