Here is our latest 440 build. It was a sweetheart of a 440, loads of power. Its not going in a car, but a Monster Truck with 57" tall tires!

The run down, here we go

440 block prepped and ready to build
Stock forged crank reconditioned
RaceTec pistons, flat top
Total seal rings
Eddy Victor heads, stage 3 ported 350/278cfm flow @ .600"
RPM dual plane intake
Older Proform 950 carb
Lunati Voodoo flat tappet solid cam 250/259 duration
7qt pan w/ Windage tray
HV oil pump
Mallory ignition
2" headers
10.8 to 1 compression
93 octane pump gas
Hughes roller rockers
Custom 3/8 pushrods made in house
PEP I beam rods
Billet timing set

This 440 made some real power and had a very FAT power curve. It hit 595TQ at 4000rpm and 617HP at 5800rpm. It was still making over 600HP at 6500rpm.

Dyno sheets, Video and pics to come soon.

I really don't know what's required for that application, although I know you gave the customer a great deal on his powerplant. :thumleft:

I do see some potential for some other app's...especially with the head flow. :D

P.S.....I'm thinking this truck will be more of a "looker" then a "off road" piece. Wouldn't some different oiling mods be needed if any extreme angles could come into play?

Yet another winner out of Mike's shop! Can't wait to see some dyno vids and maybe some in the vehicle

Edit: This is the second build I've read about where you used the RaceTec pistons-a new fave or building up a good rep? :) Obviously they seem to meet your intent and goals

Yes the RaceTec Pistons are nice. I will be using more of them in the future. Not 100%, but they will fill a gap for me. What I like aboutthem is the quality and their willingness to make custom tweaks I need or want for no extra charge. Saves the customer money.

yes the Truck is a Fun ride, not a competition truck

Really nice numbers Mike, Impressive to say the least.

Nice talking to you on the phone this afternoon. Looking forward to a build from you this winter.

Ok here is the "SHEET" and the Video.

Yes, if it was to be a real hard core competition type truck, dry sump is the only safe way to go. He is running a BONE STOCK 440 in it now. Boy, talk about a learning curve, 3X the power here!

Thanks Mike, the dry sump was my first thought also.

You're becoming "The Man" on cam selection. :thumleft: These torque curves, especially on the recent big blocks, has been phenomenal. Congratulations!!!

Wow! I never cease to be amazed at the MRL engine builds and this is another impressive one. Mike, what is the final displacement on the 440. Forgive me if I overlooked that. Is it stock bore?

P.S. How do I get my 440 to put out numbers like that? I KNOW, have MRL build it. :)

This is a .030" over 440, stock forged crank. Final displacement is 446. 10.8 to 1 compression.

These heads were not maxed out yet either. They can be taken out to Max Wedge size, and with a 2.25" intake valve I dont see why they shouldn't flow somewhere in the 380's.

This engine has more left in it. With a Victor intake and a 1050, about 8* more duration and .050" more lift on the cam, I bet it would hit 700HP.

It was picked up today. It should be up and running very soon. I have requested Videos!
