I'm trying to figure out how to mount all my guages in the stock dash. This angle is killing me in my 67 dart. Pics would be a great help if yall have any. I searched but came up short for non stock dash cluster setup.

I have a single 4" tach and 4, 2 1/16 guages to mount. Any help would be great.

i cut the whole face outta my dash frame and built a whole new dash face. here is a video that shows it.

...no pis yet but i took the gauge cluster out..took the guages off an put a piece of aluminum with the gauges back it...big tach is on dash..keeping switches where they are..

turbofreek, keep in mind that there are different dash frames which will fit your body. The Valient, etc frame might be a better starting point.

I have my layout described on Page 1 and 2 of my build (see my signature). I also still have the template, but I'm not sure if it will fit your '67. Let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of any help.

This was in my 67 Valiant -Had used PVC pipe and cut it on a angle

This is in my Duster

That is exactly what I was looking for. I just could not for the life of me picture it in my head very well. What did you use for the guage hole templates? I just plan on a single large guage centered (tach) and two smaller sizes on each side stack one on top of the other but in a clocked outward position. So I can see them all simultaneously

My dash frame has been modified to fit the cage in my car. I don't want to go through the mess of doing another one. I believe they are the same witb some cluster opening variations but generally the same.

Below is a shot of the custom dash I made in my daily Dart.
Plan is to cover the aluminium plate with a textured black vinyl and reuse the plastic trim from the original dash...

Here's the start of mine. The speedo and tach aren't there yet but you get the idea. Has a rolled edge for a more finished look on the insert.

that looks really good man. you gonna weld it into the dash frame or make it a removable unit?

I had thought about welding it in, but something about the though of it being a permanent piece didn't set well so it's going to be a removable piece. That's why I did the rolled edge so it would look a lot better sitting against the dash.

The one in my duster is steel and the gauge holders where made from exhaust tubing.
Cut and welded back together. The one that was in my 67 Valiant was made from aluminum and the gauge holders where made from PVC pipe that cut and painted black.
I attached the gauge's into the tubes the bolted it in.

Here's mine.

I spent 20 years in aviation, so it's aluminum, painted wrinkle finish, and has individually removable panels for ease of maintenance.

Wow...good looking and utilitarian...

OK, now I have dash envy....

Young Gun, I love those switches, where did you get them?

You can also get individual switches like that at one of the box stores, Autozone etc. That's where I got mine. They have different color covers to choose from. I like them because you don't accidentally turn on a switch when you don't want to. Flip up the cover and then hit the toggle.

So is the non matching guages part of the plan? Looks great otherwise. I really like the layout a bunch.
