WTF?! You gotta see this!

Ya see, I don't remember the straight axle cars being the bumper scraping tail draggers that everyone says they used to be. I remember them more like this....

I just googled these pics, so I apologize to anyone if they're unhappy with me posting them.

The reason they were jacked up was to put bigger tires under the back. These pictures prove that. Back then narrowed rears, wheel tubs were not that common or easy to do. This was the time when air shock use also peaked.

I would drive the wheels off of that thing.....I think it is just awesome!! They made a million of those cars and they are not rare anyway, it's cooler than an original restored one IMO any day :prayer:
I agree I think that would be a unique ride. I would drive it. I wouldn't pay 35K for it though.

I don't know what to really think, the more I look at it the more I'm liking it.

Oh it is cool as hell, I just would not have dun that even back in the 70'es or 80'es.......... I know folks that would but I have been known to do some stuff I regretted

hahaha now your talking my kind of regret. i demolished more cool mopars then i can remember, and now im kicking myself. even demolished a few 64-65 GTOs id like to have now

30'000 maybe not . But 383 runner the bomb. Paint looks killer to me . Wouldn't buy it . Wouldn't build it . But sure as hell would drive it and show .

If you would not buy it or build it how would you drive and show it?:dontknow::laughing:[-(

Kind of meant wouldn't pay 30,000 for it . Read between the lines . But would pay what it's worth 10,000 . Are less

hate how high it sits but love every thing else about it mainly the paint!!!!!!!!!!!

I like a an early 70's style standin' tall street freak; but yea, that one just doesn't sit right. Too high for the size of its tires, rear axle too far forward.
It looks like it's hovering over its wheels and axles instead of riding on them.

The green '65 Cuda in Revhendo's post has got the stance right.

Man! that is a neat car and should be preserved just as found....Gosh, on the side profile pic, if you squint your eyes it looks like a real life roadrunner cartoon!:prayer:

That car is cool and all, but what about the black engine bay??:sad5:
