I too have been contemplating close to the same thing with a '71 challenger body and '06 charger I have.
I know the charger is longer and wider, but how did the dash fit. Was it to wide?

Yea I'm thinking the car should be pretty quick. It has to be at least 800 pounds lighter than the charger. The dash is about 3 inches wider than the darts. Tim modified the doors so the dash will recess into the doors. Otherwise it fit pretty well.
