Just finished trunk panels on the 'Dart'. Tool kit where the spare was and show and shine stuff under the package tray. Sure cleans it up. What do you guys and gals think? I'm thick skinned I can take it. I know you guys won't be shy.:silent:

Dude that's awesome wanna come make one for my 74?...lol
I like the hiding of the tool kit and clean up stuff may steal that idea

Looks great.....don't understand why some one would want there trunk to look like that but......It does look awesome...

Very clean and modern look! I do like it better than the rather unfinished stock trunk,or worse yet a big fuel cell hump,lol...

Believe it or not its all friction fit, except for 2 panels that have velcro, the one around the filler neck and the one around the latch receiver. Takes about 1 minute to take it all outa there. Used neoprene so there's enough squish in the fabric that you can get a good fit without fasteners.

Looks very nice.Any step by step pictures? What did you make you panels out of?Is the spare tire under there somewhere?

No spare, can of tire flat and a prayer. All the panels are made out of 1/2" prefinished birch plywood, spray glue and finally neoprene. Started with cardboard templates then the real deal. Worst ones were the filler neck, and the rear around the latch. To get the one around the latch to tuck in nicely I reduced the plywood thickness to 1/4" stock ,worked better.

This whole process started with the tool kit,we won the tool kit in a poker run for, get this "The Worst hand". It all just rolled on from there. Steal away dude, just sharing ideas. Some crazy talented people in the FABO Family.

Looks very, very nice! Can you notice a difference in the road noise with it done?

Damn I like That! But I will always have my spare with me. Took it out 1 time & went to a show 6 hours from home & had a belt separate & NO Spare, & Nobody with me had 1 either. Always carry Flat-in-a-can as well, but would not have fixed this. So now spare stays in the trunk.
