whats your Favorite color and worse color for a car

-
Favorite - B-5 blue
Least favorite - ANY color green .
I have had close to 40 1971-74 Dodge Chargers , 85% of all those were some shade of green . 15+ Darts , 1967 - 76 , all but 4 were some shade of puke green .
My Dart is not being painted back to green . Its going metallic copper .

I like all colors but I am with the crowd that some cars don't look good high impact colors especially early A's. I don't like the ZZ1 Gold Poly Metalic that my Dart is but I think the same color on Fishypete's Barracuda is stunning. It really makes a difference whether the car has a vinyl top, stripes, and what wheels and tires it wears. Here's a like and a dislike. (I should post the last photo in the ugly Mopar thread lol) tmm

HATE all the high impact colors. Burnt orange?? Beat me with a rock. White reminds me of a fridganotor. Depending on the car red is cool. 64 Fairlanes look great in the right shade of red. Yellow?? Nope....Black....except for the fact that most cars that are black should not be....My car is b5....and it has grown me

Favorite ?, probably Blue. My first car was a '73 340 Dart Sport with 2-Tone B1 & B9 Blue. Followed closely by Orange

Least favorite. Green. My '73 Duster (originally my dad's, he's not a fan of green either) was J3 Green, he hated the color so much that he painted the car a different color as soon as he bought it. I've got a '73 Dart Sport that was F1 Green, fortunately it had been painted E5 Red some time during its life.

My '74 Duster was originally G2 (Frost Mint Green), it isn't a bad looking color since it's a metallic, but it doesn't fit the Duster style very well. It had been painted Plum Crazy Purple during it's life, and then I painted it Rallye Red.

I like white cars because they stay cooler in the sun and dislike black cars for the opposite reason. Mostly I like to keep Mopars their original color whatever that is. As I have gotten older I'm not a fan of colors like silver or charcoal that blend into the road making it hard to see the car coming.

Tastes and things have changed for me a little over the years , but not completely .
I did not like green , golds , or browns much .
Now as the years have passed it depends on the car for me ?
I think certain cars look stunning with the right accents
Depending on stripes white/black vinyl top interior ect .
I am partial to fm3 moulin rouge / panther pink , because I came home from the hospital when I was born in the 70 moulin rouge Road Runner my parents special ordered .

I think it depends on the car ?

Favorite:

'68 LL1 Surf Turqoise metallic teal

Also up there:

FJ6 Sassy Grass Green

With that said, I'm also partial to lots of colors. I like all of them for different things. I've taken a fondness to heavy metallic golds, lately as well as orange. My house is full of bright colors and old furniture.

My '68 Charger is LL1, Amy's Scamp is FJ6 (factory F8 green, only car I own not wearing original color )and my 240Z is 918 Orange, so I'm set.

Least favorite;

Any shade of fine metallic pearl pewter (the color that every SUV is) Not to be mistaken for champagne, which has a higher coarse metallic that looks gorgeous on early '60's cars.

I think I have a better answer than what I gave before.... it really just has to do with the car. The type of car, because I think some cars/styles look better in some colors, but also about the specific car itself. I think I just fall in love with certain cars, period, no matter what their color.

favorite depends on the car, but I can easily say that the one I hate is matte or satin black. Any time I see a car "finished" in matte/satin black I just want to take it and throw a coat if wax on it.

unless it's one of these:

No kidding.

You have to be careful with matte and semi-gloss black on cars or it will look trashy... like, a pro-wrestler-sponsored-by-an-energy-drink-paint-scheme-with-24"-wheels-trashy.

My favorite color would have to be a classic white, some metallics, some candy colors, classic / mature stock colors like greens, browns, blues, black, black cherry, oranges.

borderline colors would have to be any Red & some yellows and a my least favorite colors would have to be mostly Purples, Pinks, satins and Grays

mostly depends on alot of factors - the model of the car, body lines, size, year, and how you're going to dress the car. I'll repeat what DarTT said earlier "It's your car and you do what you would like to it"

I would say favorite is red and least would be a light or mint green, orange or any matte colors. But there are some awful colors that can be made to look right somehow. A'69-'70 Boss Mustang looks great in orange or "grabber" yellow and the awful green of the Lamborghini Mura show car looks just right after over 40 years. The McLaren race cars of the 60s & 70s were a yellowish orange and they just look great, they shouldn't but do somehow. My friend has a survivor '70 Camaro Z28 in Citrus green and it is so '70s it is super cool, man EVERYTHING is green on this car, the seat belts even the headliner.

Sorry all I'm a "Bright" kind of guy. I love the high impact colors. Seems a few don't like not year correct colors. I get a ton of compliments on the color of my car. Maybe the haters just don't want to tell me they don't like it. Off hand I can't think of any colors I don't actually like.

To me, your car is an exception. I think it looks great in green.

that coronet looks awesome ....orange was available on those ...there was an orange 67 GTX floating around here ....maybe not that bright from the factory but not that far off either.

either way that's a bad B-body ......when I say bad I mean like Michael Jackson bad which is good.

My F8 has really grown on me, it's by far my favorite. My 75 Highboy is painted "Burnt Ginger" .. Lol, brown.. But damn it looks nice in brown. I think an off white looks great on a notchback Barracuda. However I'm not so much into the high impact colours, especially Lime Green. Yuck. Mind you, that's a bad *** Plymouth above, but the colour just doesn't do it for me.
Go to the car shows around here, almost every car of every make is painted a high impact colour.. It's refreshing to see something in a non high impact.
