Not legal in the USA...only in Canada.

I have just the standard halogen bulbs you can buy at any parts store, and they work well...the headlights are almost as good as a much more modern car, especially with relays.

If you don't have a set of relays in the car, spending any money on bulbs is kind of a waste. The relays and normal halogen bulbs make it work pretty well. It will at least be as good as an early to mid 1990's car.

I just put the relays in about a week ago, Im not really concerned about the legality here where I live, just wondering on the light. Has anyone tried them.

WTF NOT????

It's the REST of us poor bastards that have to meet you goin' down the highway.

ya know I used to use landing lights, Google up 4537 lamps. Now back in those days I was REALLY careful not to shine them at anybody, except fer guys like YOU

AAHhhh, a bit of concern for the oncoming drivers... What a quaint old fashioned idea, '67. Here in Texas, they stopped checking headlight aim at inspection time several years ago. The idea that an officer would know about wattages of lights, much less halogens or H.I.D.s, I find laughable. But let one of 'em burn out and you've got a big target on your back. Of course the fine goes to the "Justice" of the Peace, or city/county court system. Surely that can't enter into their priorities, can it??? BTDT & burned the t-shirt!

just get good lights like hella and good basic 4h bulbs, not blue crap. then put relays and you have good lights that dont bling ongoing traffic. Use good lights and adjust them correctly, or you will blind other drivers, pointing up and in sky dont help any. we have here mooses, reindeers and other big animals, not just small deers like bambi. hitting moose not good, its so high animal it will come straight trough windscreen

did mine last winter. this night was first time when here was dark, and those lights worked good as any modern cars.

in summer we have thing called mid night sun so no really need for lights at june or julu

I thought these were good lights Im not trying to blind anyone, and I dont want blue lights, just a nice crisp white light, and buy the way my lights are adjusted right 67 dart73 nobody has really answered my question on these lights being good or bad.

Maybe because I'm starting to get old and "lights affect me" more at night I'm getting a little sensitive. Sometimes I wish there was a handy way to PUT those 4537s on an A

uh..I live in Georgia: what is INSPECTION?

I run Hella in my Dart. I love Hella. SlantSixDan likes different brands, and there are lots, but it all boils down to the cut and pattern. I have run Hella most of my life and love them. I did buy a relay wiring kit because the conversions draw enough power to pop the circuit breaker in your headlight switch. I recommend FABO member crackedback for the relay kit.

HID and lifted trucks, what a recipe for disaster! Get one of those A-holes behind you and you can turn your lights off! He'll be putting so much light out your windshield you wont need them. Ill add lowered HID cars too as when they go over a bump the lights jump up at you and look like a strobe light. And purple lights? Manly! OK, sorry. As for the lights, go for it, just make sure they are aimed properly. Relays driving an honest 13.5V to your stockish headlamps will almost double their output compared to the old harness loss. Big Bosch relays can be had for 3.50 a piece and the socket is another $1.50 at a local electronics house.10 bucks and some wire + rerouting. try it!

I did the relay kit also, Im 61 years young and just want a crisp white lite im not insterested in coon hunting and I dont drive fast at night thats why regular aiming work for me.

those lights are chinese junk, id only use them on my 2 yr olds plastic electric jeep. :) u need to contact SSD for some quality head lamps.

Japanese, but whatever. I put them in my Dart three years ago and they work great. This exact same kit and I bought it from Amazon as well. Plus I have had Hella conversions in every car I have that they make them for going back 25 years. I have never had a problem. I love Hella lights, especially the pattern.

HAH I have a sure fire way for them behind me. when I drive my truck (stock itty bitty tires on a 92 d250 diesel) I have some AWESOME Led reverse lights that I made up using Phillips lumileds (40 per light)and it's toggled to a separate power source so I can turn em on for the lifted trucks. since I live out in the sticks there are a LOT of yahoo's with the bright lights, this (the leds) backs em up quick since they are so bright! now if they are coming toward me , I'm still stuck using my brights but since I relayed them too the are brighter than normal.

I certainly hope so, what do you say mopar to ya will I like them and will they fit ok.

They fit easily, they are the same shape as any sealed beam. Get the relay kit, though. I owned a bar and would drive home at 3am and all of a sudden - poof! - no headlights. Then they would pop on. The relay kit makes them bright all the time, taking the rpm dim/bright out of the equation. Then the only power draw on the headlight switch is whatever it takes to switch the relay on, very little. I bought mine from Daniel Stern, aka SlantSixDan. My next one will be from crackedback, a much nicer, less opinionated and easier to get along with FABO member. Plus, I burn through a $25 relay twice a year on the DS setup.

Relay kit has been installed lights should be here Sept 6, I think I will be satisified with them for all the more driving I do at night. Some of you members should take a chill pill. WOW.
